As of February 9, 2026 Davenport has scrubbed from his website, ripdavenport.com, any references to being a paid "speaker."

He has also been stripped of his membership as a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS) since the CV he submitted in 2011 was completely fake.  Until a few weeks ago, "FRGS" figured prominently on every page of Rip's various website.  You can see how the webpage USED to look with those claims as recently as two weeks ago here: https://web.archive.org/web/20260114150234/https://www.ripdavenport.com/.

However, the claims to have come clean about his false claims to adventure and exploration achievement are still there.  If he genuinely was concerned about the impact of those lies, he could start by emailing a sincere apology to the clients who paid him $7K USD each to be "guided" in the Gobi and who left within the first week of a month long trip because they realized Davenport had no idea what he was doing or any competence.  They valued their lives and health and walked away from the money, the travel, the time.  He could email the Danish watch maker who was Davenport's main sponsor on the 2010 solo Mongolia walk and who gave him thousands of dollars in cash and watches and who Davenport skipped out on.   He could apologize to the Irish partner at Explore Foundation for scamming him an lying about his CV.    Lots of places to start.
